/etc/fb.modes

In /etc/fb.modes there must be a first entry which defines the resolution of the screen and the color depth. This entry should look like this:

mode "768x576-73"
    # D: 36.058 MHz, H: 45.993 kHz, V: 73.120 Hz
    geometry 768 576 768 576 32
    timings 27733 18 0 34 10 46 4
    bcast true
    accel true
    #rgba 8/16,8/8,8/0,8/24
endmode
It is a good idea to get deeper knowledge about this file. The important thing is that the screen height is 576 and the color depth is at least 16.

/etc/lircd.conf

This file defines what the remote control key codes mean. The following keys must be defined:

          2
          3
          4
          5

Running df-gp

You can run the application by typing df_gp. It starts by showing a background picture. After pressing the CANCEL/F1 button, a menu appears and you may choose a plugin to run.

df_gp can be controlled by a remote control. This is the same what can be used to control VDR. It has all number buttons, menu, ok, cursor buttons and 4 colored buttons (red/green/yellow/blue). Additionally a button for the main menu is needed.

The color buttons are assigned to F5-F8 (F5-red, F6-green, F7-yellow, F8-blue). The menu button is assigned to F10. The CANCEL or main menu button is assigned to F1.
